    What We Do

Because we are not a licensed kennel, our pet care takes place in the comfort of your home and includes the following:

    • Walking / exercise
    • Waste removal
    • Feeding / fresh water
    • Pet bedding / home cleanliness
    • Play / cuddle time
    • Medication administration

We also take pride in caring for your home and can arrange for many additional household duties such as retrieving the mail and/or newspapers, plant watering, and trash maintenance.

Well-behaved dogs and cats are always a plus and in order to care for the larger breeds of dogs (those over 60 pounds), both animal(s) and human(s) must feel comfortable with each other. Dogs should be trained well to walk on a leash.

    Passion

I have grown up loving and being loved by animals. My sister and I made it our life’s mission to ask for "just one more” family pet even though by most standards, we already had a full house--a total menagerie. Over the years, we loved, cared for, and cried over the many breeds of dogs, cats, and other animals in our home which included a Dalmation, a mixed Terrier stray, two Pekingese, and a Golden Retriever, and five Dachshunds. Our cats received the same amount of love and attention as did our birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, rabbits, several turtles, and 100’s of fish. I think back about how many Saturday mornings I spent cleaning my 10 fish tanks and how carefully I replaced each precious school back into its new aquarium environment after cleaning. Expectantly, I waited each time for a some sign of approval and was always rewarded with their renewed energy and, of course, that enhanced water clarity. We actually taught one bird in particular, Tweety, not only to say “Hello,” but to say “Merry Christmas" also. The problem was, we knew when the seasons changed, but of course he didn’t. Our yellow calico kitty, Elmer, could have been one of the models for the Broadway Musical, “Cats.” That dominant male yowled outside my bedroom window every night for years and I imagine now it was because he had his own troupe of Jellicles that he met up with each midnight in our ever-expanding neighborhood.

    Background

Born and raised in South Florida, I married my college sweetheart (a wonderful guy) and became a mother of twins and now "Mom" to their spouses. I am the grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren and the proud "Mommy" and owner of two adorable dachshunds, Sugar Blue and Sophie Too. While I'm a lifetime health care provider and caregiver as most of my life’s work has been spent loving and caring for my fellow human beings. I now consider it so right and perfect to have the opportunity to combine all of my loves into this business of passion: PAWS AND REFLECT PET SITTERS, LLC.

In order to be closer to those fabulous “Grands,” we have moved back permanently to LA. (Lower Alabama), a place we have called our second home for the past several decades. In addition to getting us closer to all the children, we are also very close to the beautiful Alabama beaches. In our spare time, we love to fish, swim, Scuba dive, and to go boating.

    Mission

Always striving for safe, secure, fun, and comprehensive pet and home care (especially designed for your unique pets), I promise to be the trustworthy, compassionate, dependable, and professional caregiver that you expect me to be: the one with whom you have contracted. You’ll also be getting me as your pet care person each time and only in emergencies, will I rely on additional support from my husband, John.
